“If you value it, vote for it” – Welsh Labour focus on record in government and future offer in campaign last ten days

Welsh Labour today unveiled the slogan under which they will fight the last ten days of the Senedd election campaign – “If you value it, vote for it.”

Fusing two decades of Welsh Labour achievements in Government with a bold offer for the next Senedd term, the slogan was unveiled on a mobile ad-van targeting battleground seats in South Wales and in a battery of online messaging.

The last ten days of the election campaign will see Welsh Labour’s ground campaign supercharged, with tens of thousands of voter contacts, campaigner visits across the country and an unprecedented online persuasion and Get Out The Vote push. Welsh Labour’s leadership team of Mark Drakeford and Carolyn Harris will take the “If you value it, vote for it” message into seats the length and breadth of Wales.

Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister Mark Drakeford said:

“This Senedd election truly is unlike any other. It is not just Welsh Labour’s pledge for a jobs-led recovery on the ballot paper, but the very fabric of the country we have built together over the past twenty years.

“These pledges need a Welsh Labour Government to deliver them, and these achievements need a Welsh Labour Government to protect them.

“So whether it’s creating thousands of new jobs or free prescriptions, the successful Welsh vaccine roll out or building new schools and hospitals, the message is simple – if you value it, vote for it.”

Welsh Labour Deputy Leader Carolyn Harris said:

“With every poll showing the danger that the Tories pose at this election, our message is crystal clear – if you value the things that Welsh Labour have done for you, your family and your community, you need to get out and vote for them. If you value Mark Drakeford’s cautious and compassionate response to the pandemic, you need to vote for it.

“Our slogan for the last ten days of this campaign is rooted in Welsh Labour traditions, and played a crucial part in past campaigns.

“At this election, only a vote for Welsh Labour will protect Welsh jobs and keep the Tories out – and a vote for Plaid risks letting the Tories in through the back door.

“I’ll be out across Wales every day between now and May 6th banging the drum for our Welsh Labour Government and what it has done for Wales, and telling each and every person I meet “if you value it, vote for it.”
